Further Info

Opening Times & Deposit
Bears Hideaway are open 49 weeks of the year from 8am to 6pm. We close over the Christmas Period, for Good Friday and the following Easter week and for one week in the summer. We are also closed for bank holidays. Full details of our current year closure are given on registration.

For continuity of care we require a minimum of 15 hours attendance per week for all our children, regardless of age.   Fees are due in advance and payable by the 1st of the month. We require a £250 deposit to secure a place in our setting. This is payable to us when a place becomes available for your child, and would be paid before your child starts, to hold the sessions offered to you. We then hold your deposit for the duration of your child's time at nursery, and the deposit will be refunded against the final invoice when your child leaves. If you decide to not take your place at Bears Hideaway your deposit is NOT refundable as the sessions will have been allocated to your child.

Early Education Funding
If your child is aged over 3 years then he/she will be entitled to Early Education Funding (EEF), regardless of how much you earn. This funding is awarded in the term after their third birthday. The funding can be accessed at Bears Hideaway in a variety of ways to ensure that you maximise your entitlement.

Every child is able to claim the FREE early education funding – at Bears Hideaway this is stretched over the year as we are open 49 weeks as opposed to other settings/preschools who are open 38 weeks. There are 2 variations of funding, either 15 hours – (11 hours for our setting funding as we are open all year) OR 30 hours –( 22 hours for our setting as we are open all year).

All children can access the 15 hours however the 30 hour funding has a criteria (available for families where both parents are working, or the sole parent is working in a lone-parent family), and each parent earns the equivalent of 16 hours a week at the national minimum or living wage, and earns less than £100,000 a year).  We offer a variety of sessions but all children MUST attend a minimum of 15 hours a week. Our sessions are set and parents cannot choose varying hours within these set sessions (i.e. 9-1230) but we do offer a variety with parents able to choose between a morning (8am-1pm), an afternoon (1pm-6pm), a school day (8am-3:30pm) and a full day (8am-6pm).

The Government states that the funding is to cover the cost of delivering the free childcare, and is NOT intended to fund the cost of consumables (such as drinks, meals and nappies) or additional services (such as yoga, music lessons and trips). It states Providers (Bears Hideaway) are free to charge Parents for such discretionary items provided they are not compulsory and cannot be a condition of taking up a place. The nursery provides ALL food offered to children. Parents CANNOT bring in their own food for their child but can inform us of any likes/dislikes/allergies. At Bears Hideaway food and drink is a NECESSITY and required during a 5 hour, 7.5 hour and a 10 hour day as children MUST eat and drink regularly. We work in accordance with the EYFS welfare requirements and the CHILDCARE ACT 2006 so therefore must charge for these items as they fall outside the education funding, but fall in line with ensuring ‘children learn best when they are healthy, safe and secure, when their individual needs are met’ (EYFS section 3 the safeguarding and welfare requirements).

We are pleased to be able to offer funded places for two year olds who are eligible for the Two's Too Funding.   Two year old funding is applied as a stretched offer as above as we are a full time nursery. To check if you are eligible please click the link:
